New feature I added to support this is ability to tie attacks to attack animation length and animation events, this allows different weapons to have different animations without creating new attacks (using an animator override):
It also sets the animator speed factor, so you can use the speed set in the ItemType to automatically speed up the animation. A custom attirbute is used to drive the animtor override selector, so any sword will change the animations to use the sword animations:
Will share some dev logs of actually building stuff as I think it would be benefial to see how I deal with various parts of the process. Note I am writing custom code, although other than stuff related to art I haven't written much.
